Came here for a Sunday roast and would recommend - really friendly service and tasty food in a pleasant setting. The vegetarian roast option was veggie sausages (the type with potato and bits of veg in, if you're familiar!) which wasn't quite on a level with the rest of the meal - the gravy and vegetables were delicious, as was dessert. Did appreciate having a vegetarian option though!

The food and service was good. If we were to go again we would try and reserve a table at the front of the restaurant as the room at the back was very noisy.

As visiting for a wedding at nearby Crondon Park this was an ideal spot to have as a base. The staff were very welcoming and showed me through to reception, I’d walked into the bar. The room was very nicely laid out and all the usual amenities were to hand. The bar had a good selection of beers and wines. Breakfast in the morning was freshly cooked but the beans were cold.

A fantastic rustic village pub. The food is fantastic and well priced. And the menu is very creative and often changes so you dont get bored. Excellent pub, one of the best locally.

We've been there before and enjoyed the breakfast and lunch. But our recent visit was a surprise to find it finishes serving breakfast at 9.45 on a Saturday. The food has always been good, and the seating and decor is vg.

We have just moved to the area and were a walk in.
There is a car park, dogs allowed in the bar, the menu is amazing! Whist we couldn't eat everything on the menu, I had the lamb and Mr had the steak and sticky toffee pudding, all of which were lush and reasonably priced.
The staff were friendly, warm and attentive and happy to check for allergens and suggest alternatives, they were familiar with the menu and could advise us.
It was warm inside though there is a fireplace for the colder months and everything was reasonably priced.

Review of food only. Fabulous Sunday lunch. I think the lamb was better than the pork. Great veg and roasties. Lovely service.

Great service. The rooms are lovely, the main building is much warmer than rooms in "the stables". Each room has a slightly different decor, nice touch. Food is lovely.

The Harvard Inn: A Historic Boutique Hotel
The Harvard Inn is a charming independent boutique hotel that exudes character and history. I stayed here while attending a local wedding.
🌟 **Atmosphere and History:**
The Harvard Inn stands as a testament to the past. Its walls have witnessed countless stories, and its wooden beams seem to hold secrets from centuries ago. As you step inside, you're greeted by an ambiance that transports you back in time.
🍸 **Caramel Espresso Martini:**
The bar at The Harvard Inn is a hidden gem. Their caramel espresso martini is a delightful concoction—a perfect blend of rich coffee, velvety caramel, and a kick of vodka. Sipping it feels like indulging in a decadent dessert.
🥗 **Harvard Salad:**
For foodies, the Harvard Salad is a revelation. Fresh greens, juicy cherry tomatoes, and crumbled feta come together in a symphony of flavors. The tangy vinaigrette ties it all together, leaving your taste buds dancing.
👩💼 **Exceptional Staff:**
The staff at The Harvard Inn deserves applause. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care elevate the experience. Whether you need local recommendations or extra pillows, they're there with a smile.
⏰ **Room Request:**
The only minor quibble? A clock in the room would be helpful. Sometimes, amidst the historical charm, we still need to keep track of time.
In summary, The Harvard Inn is more than a hotel—it's a living piece of history. If you appreciate unique stays and crave a taste of the past, this boutique gem awaits

We had a one night stay as we had a wedding to attend nearby.
The building has been lovingly restored and has retained a lot of its character and history. No issues with parking which is always great.
They allowed us to check in early (for a small fee) which was very helpful.
Check in all went smoothly and staff were very pleasant.
The room was very tastefully decorated and equipped. A large main room and modern bathroom with nice towels. Couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the room. The carpet was very nice and felt thick underfoot.
Kettle, tea and coffee and bottles of water are always nice to see in the room. Although no mini fridge if you need one.
Breakfast is table service which I always prefer to a buffet style. The cooked breakfast was fairly nice too bar a couple of things below.
However, there were a few problems that overall made us leaving the next day feeling less than refreshed:
1. the double bed was two singles pushed together which was very uncomfortable as you could feel the join and edges. You need a decent mattress topper if you’re going to do this. I didn’t feel the mattress was very comfortable either; too hard. The pillows weren’t very comfortable either and felt too hard.
2. The room was very noisy. The hotel is practically adjacent to the main road and our room (number 10) was directly next to the road. Although not a busy road, every time I felt myself drifting off I heard and felt a car driving past the window. Come morning thudding from upstairs could be heard loudly.
Also very annoying were the curtains, very thin so let a lot of light in from street lights and then daylight. I definitely always prefer blackout curtains/blinds.
3. There was no hand soap in the bathroom? Not sure if this was an omission or on purpose. Very odd not to have something to wash your hands with. Also couldn’t get the towel rail to work meaning the room was very cold and left the nice tiled floor freezing underfoot.
3. The cooked breakfast was nice except the sausages. Either they were overcooked or poor quality. A cappuccino is not included in the breakfast price for some reason. It was also a giant mug of milky coffee which isn’t a cappuccino!
Overall, for the price I can’t complain too much as it was lovely place to be (just not to sleep overnight); if it wasn’t for the issues above it would have been a 5.

This would have been a clear 5 stars but for one thing. It was a business dinner and my friend ordered steak. He was asked if he wanted a sauce but no one pointed out it doesn't come with vegetables or potatoes. Surely nobody just eats steak on its own! Vegetables were provided within a couple of minutes of asking which was good. Shame, but would not stop me returning as everything else was good.
